A soft and supple leather handbag with hand-painted art by Ranjeet Jha of Bihar, India. He learned the art of Madhubani painting, represented in the Asian Art Museum collection in pieces such as this painting of a Holi celebration, from his mother beginning at the age of 7. Ranjeet loves to include the traditional motif of the Tree of Life in his artwork – seen here intertwined with the figure of a woman, both rooted in the earth yet reaching for the sky.
