This shu or fermented style Puerh tea from the Bay Area's own Fabula Tea is picked from 300-500 year old tea trees in Yunnan Province, China. It's a high mountain tea, grown at an elevation of 4900 ft and may help to ease anxiety, manage blood sugar and help with digestion and gut health. The taste is smooth, rich, woodsy and clean.

Brewing Suggestions

  • Western Style - Break off one square and add to a large teapot. Add 200F water and steep for 10-15 minutes or to desired strength.
  • Gongfu Cha Style - Break off one square and add to a gaiwan or yixing clay teapot. Give the tea a quick rinse with 200F water. Add 200F water and steep for 30 sec. For the second to fourth infusions, add 200F water and steep for 5-10 sec. And for subsequent infusions increase the steeping time by 10 sec each time.
